Senior Regional Technical Officer – Supply Chain (Tabora)

About the role

The Senior Regional Technical Officer (SRTO) for Supply Chain will provide hands‑on technical leadership, mentorship and systems support to strengthen supply chain management, pharmaceutical services and data use across the Tabora region.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise and day‑to‑day support on commodities management at regional, council and health‑facility levels, including bottom‑up quantification and integration into national supply plans.
• Monitor stock status, analyse inventory trends and coordinate with stakeholders to prevent stock‑outs, minimise expiries and reduce overstocks.
• Strengthen the use of eLMIS, DHIS2, GoTHOMIS and related tools for accurate, timely reporting and data‑driven decision‑making.
• Mentor and supervise junior staff, health‑facility pharmacists and clinicians through on‑the‑job demonstrations, supportive supervision and capacity‑building initiatives.
• Facilitate pharmacovigilance, rational use of medicines and collaboration with regulatory bodies such as MSD, TMDA, CMS and the Pharmacy Council.

Required profile

• Minimum eight (8) years of experience in public‑life‑saving commodities supply chain management, pharmaceutical management or health‑systems strengthening.
• Degree in Pharmacy, Supply Chain Management, Public Health or related field (master’s preferred).
• Proven experience working with the Ministry of Health, USG‑funded projects and donor‑funded health programmes.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
