Regional Technical Officer – PMTCT

About the role

The Regional Technical Officer – Prevention of Mother-to-Child Transmission (PMTCT) provides technical expertise and supports the implementation of PMTCT, HIV‑Exposed Infants, pediatric HIV and cervical cancer services within the EpiC Project in Tanzania.

Key responsibilities

• Support planning, implementation, monitoring and improvement of PMTCT and cervical cancer prevention interventions across the region.
• Provide technical guidance to facility and community teams on triple elimination (HIV, syphilis, hepatitis B) and cervical cancer screening, treatment and referral.
• Mentor and coach regional technical teams and healthcare workers through structured supervision, on‑the‑job training and performance improvement initiatives.
• Monitor key indicators, prepare technical reports, analytical briefs and success stories for internal and external stakeholders.
• Strengthen referral and linkage systems, infection prevention and control, and ensure timely reporting of program performance.

Required profile

• Doctor of Medicine (MD), Nursing degree or related health field with professional registration.
• Minimum of four years progressive experience in PMTCT, pediatric HIV, MNCH or related HIV programs, preferably donor‑funded.
• Fluency in English and Kiswahili.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Tanzania MOH guidelines for PMTCT and cervical cancer prevention.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Strong data analysis, reporting and presentation abilities.
