Senior Regional Technical Officer – Supply Chain

About the role

The Senior Regional Technical Officer (SRTO) will provide hands‑on technical leadership, mentorship and systems support to strengthen supply chain management and pharmaceutical services across the Kilimanjaro region. The role bridges MSD, CMS, regional health teams and implementing partners to ensure data‑driven, evidence‑based management of life‑saving HIV/AIDS and TB commodities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day technical expertise on commodity management, support bottom‑up quantification and integrate it into national supply and procurement plans.
• Monitor stock status, analyse inventory trends and coordinate actions to prevent stock‑outs, expiries and overstocks.
• Strengthen use of eLMIS, DHIS2, GoTHOMIS and related tools for accurate, timely reporting and data‑driven decision‑making.
• Mentor health‑facility staff on stock management, ordering, redistribution, rational use of medicines and pharmacovigilance.
• Facilitate collaboration with MSD, TMDA, CMS, ZFDA and the Pharmacy Council to institutionalise best pharmaceutical practices.

Required profile

• Minimum eight (8) years of experience in public health commodity supply chain, pharmaceutical management or health‑systems strengthening.
• Degree in Pharmacy, Supply Chain Management, Public Health or related field (master’s preferred).
• Proven experience with e‑LMIS, DHIS2, GoTHOMIS, BUQ and related data tools.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
