About the role
The Sales Head will lead the planning, direction, and oversight of sales operations across Tanzania for a diversified portfolio of plastics, metals, and general trading products. This senior role focuses on developing robust sales strategies, managing a national sales team, and expanding market share across urban and rural markets.
Key responsibilities
- Achieve and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for all product lines.
- Develop and implement strategic sales plans aligned with company goals.
- Lead, mentor, and supervise the national sales team to ensure optimal performance and market coverage.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, channel partners, and distributors.
- Identify public‑sector tenders, manage submissions, and ensure compliance with PPRA/e‑procurement systems.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to refine sales strategies.
- Coordinate with production, logistics, and marketing to align supply and demand, manage pricing, and support promotions.
- Train and support branch sales teams to strengthen brand positioning.
- Map territories and develop markets to ensure coverage of both urban and rural areas.
- Drive collections, enforce credit discipline, and ensure timely customer payments.
- Maintain up‑to‑date CRM records, prepare accurate sales reports, and provide performance updates to management.
- Represent the company at industry forums, exhibitions, trade shows, and stakeholder meetings.
Required profile
- 8–10 years of progressive sales and marketing leadership experience in East African industrial and manufacturing sectors.
- Proven track record of revenue growth and market expansion.
- Strategic mindset with expertise in developing and executing sales strategies.
- Experience managing high‑performing teams and complex distribution networks.
- Strong understanding of public‑sector procurement processes.
