Custodian 2 – Facilities Maintenance

About the role

This position provides journey‑level custodial support for church facilities, ensuring spaces are clean, safe, and spiritually welcoming for worship, teaching, and community activities.

Key responsibilities

• Perform custodial duties in assigned areas to meet established cleanliness standards.
• Operate equipment such as buffers, carpet cleaners, vacuums, and other motorized tools.
• Lift up to 50 lb, push loaded carts, bend, crawl, and reach as needed.
• Remove and replace draperies, chandeliers, lights, and set up meeting rooms upon request.
• Maintain good public relations and promptly report any issues to a supervisor.
• Handle cleaning agents and chemicals using appropriate protective equipment.

Required profile

• Current temple recommend holder (religious eligibility).
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions in English.
• Willingness to complete safety and equipment‑usage training.
• Physical capability to perform lifting, bending, and crawling tasks.

Required skills

• Operation of buffers and floor‑polishing equipment.
• Use of carpet cleaning machines.
• Proficiency with vacuum cleaners and other motorized cleaning tools.
• Safe handling of cleaning chemicals with gloves, masks, or other protective gear.
