About the role

Mikoko Green Innovation Hub (MGIH) is seeking enthusiastic young individuals to join its Blue Economy Development Program as Blue Economy Engagement Officers. This volunteer, part‑time position is ideal for final‑year university students or recent graduates who want hands‑on experience in sustainability outreach and blue‑economy initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Support outreach activities in schools, universities, and local communities.
• Promote environmental awareness and blue‑economy projects.
• Assist in planning and executing engagement campaigns, events, and sustainability programs.
• Help market MGIH products, services, and educational initiatives.
• Participate in youth mobilization and environmental advocacy.
• Contribute to digital engagement and social‑media awareness campaigns.
• Build partnerships with youth groups, schools, and organizations.
• Offer ideas for innovation, sustainability, and youth‑empowerment programs.

Required profile

• Final‑year student or recent graduate.
• Academic background in environmental management, marine sciences, fisheries & aquaculture, natural resources management, climate change studies, forestry, geography & environmental studies, community development, or related blue‑economy fields.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Passion for sustainability and youth empowerment.
• Ability to work both independently and within a team.
• Creative, proactive, and eager to learn.
