Field Technician – Renewable Energy & Electrical Engineering

About the role

Jaza is seeking a Field Technician to ensure the reliable operation of its solar‑powered hubs across the assigned region. The role focuses on maintaining energy uptime, troubleshooting battery packs, and supporting the deployment of new hubs.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor hub energy performance to achieve ≥99.9% uptime and keep battery pack health at ≥98%.
• Troubleshoot and repair defective battery packs, maintaining <2% defective rate.
• Track and escalate hubs with swap or PV utilization above 80%.
• Commission new hubs, set up phones and controllers, and sign off on go‑live.
• Log technical issues in Gitlab, perform remote diagnostics, and travel for on‑site repairs.
• Conduct routine maintenance of hub energy systems and ensure connectivity.
• Maintain accurate inventory records of equipment and components.
• Test new products and firmware as required.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Renewable Energy Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining electronic devices or systems.
• Familiarity with diagnostic tools, software, and data analysis applications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
