Project Officer – Sexual & Reproductive Health (SRHR)

About the role

The Project Officer – SRHR will lead the planning, coordination and implementation of sexual and reproductive health and rights activities within Afyaplus programmes in Dodoma. Working on‑site, you will integrate SRHR with water, sanitation, hygiene, health and gender interventions to improve community wellbeing.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute work plans for SRHR outreach, education sessions and advocacy initiatives.
• Collaborate with community leaders, schools, health facilities and partner organisations to align activities with local needs.
• Monitor project progress, collect and analyse data, and produce regular reports for donors and management.
• Facilitate trainings, workshops and community mobilisation events targeting girls, women and vulnerable groups.
• Prepare educational and learning materials, case studies and documentation of best practices.
• Contribute to proposal writing, donor reporting and ensure compliance with organisational and donor requirements.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of sexual and reproductive health and rights, WASH and community health promotion.
• Experience in integrating SRHR with WASH, health or gender programmes.
• Proven ability to mobilise communities, deliver trainings and work with vulnerable populations.
• Competence in project planning, monitoring, evaluation, data collection and basic analysis.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and advocacy skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Social Sciences, Development Studies, Gender Studies or related field (or equivalent diploma with experience).
• Prior experience with NGOs or community‑based organisations is an advantage.
• Fluent in English and Swahili; comfortable working in multicultural and rural settings.
