Fiber Technician / Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Fiber Technician/Engineer with 3–5 years of hands‑on experience in fiber optic installation, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance. The role involves working on FTTH and OSP networks to ensure high‑quality service delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Perform fiber splicing for single‑mode and multimode fibers using fusion splicing equipment.
• Conduct OTDR, power‑meter, and light‑source testing, and troubleshoot fiber links.
• Execute preventive and corrective maintenance, identifying and rectifying faults, attenuation issues, and link failures.
• Install and maintain fiber joint closures, patch panels, ODFs, and related accessories.
• Maintain accurate cable labeling, documentation, and route records.
• Follow safety procedures while working on poles and underground routes.
• Prepare daily work reports, test reports, and maintenance logs.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards and service‑level agreements during field operations.

Required profile

• Diploma or BTech in Telecommunications, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of practical experience in fiber optic installation and maintenance.
• Fiber certification courses are a plus.
• Strong knowledge of FTTH/OSP fiber networks and telecom infrastructure.
