Process Control Engineer

About the role

The Process Control Engineer is responsible for maintaining the reliability, integrity, and stability of our automation and control infrastructure. You will work closely with production teams to ensure systems run efficiently, support continuous improvement, and uphold regional manufacturing standards.

Key responsibilities

• Guarantee the integrity and uptime of production software and hardware, from PLC devices to ERP systems.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for all system components.
• Coach and train production staff on manufacturing systems.
• Align system architecture with regional and division standards.
• Support front‑line production systems, including after‑hours assistance.
• Manage change requests, train users on new functionalities, and oversee fault‑finding processes.
• Implement problem‑solving techniques to optimise process performance.
• Participate in automation projects, ensuring delivery within budget and schedule.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of instrument and control calibration, configuration, maintenance, and installation.
• Understanding of documentation standards and instrumentation protocols.
• Experience with Siemens PLC hardware and software.
• Familiarity with regional risk‑management and process‑data integrity policies.

Required skills

• Siemens PLC programming (Concept, Siemens, Unity)
• PLC network topologies: Modbus, Modbus Plus, Profibus DP/PA, Ethernet/IP, AS‑I
• Wireless control networks, LAN, Ethernet, network devices and servers
• Wonderware Archestra, Historian, InTouch SCADA, TopServer, RS Batch, scripting
• Instrument calibration and control system maintenance
