Camp Manager

About the role

Shugulika Africa Limited is looking for a Camp Manager in Dar es Salaam to manage and oversee all camp operations, accommodation facilities, catering services, housekeeping, maintenance, security, transportation and employee welfare. The goal is a safe, efficient and comfortable living environment for employees and visitors.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day camp operations, keep facilities clean, safe and functional, coordinate accommodation allocation and maintain accurate occupancy records.
• Provide suitable accommodation and welfare facilities, address employee concerns about camp living, and ensure safe, convenient and on-time transportation.
• Supervise catering providers, ensure meals meet agreed standards and timeliness, monitor food hygiene and health regulations, and evaluate food service providers regularly.
• Ensure compliance with company HSE policies, conduct regular facility inspections, coordinate emergency preparedness and respond to security and access control needs with the Security Agency.
• Supervise housekeeping and cleaning, coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance, and ensure water, electricity, sanitation and waste management.
• Monitor camp operational expenses and budgets, verify supplier invoices and service delivery, and manage relationships with contractors and vendors.
• Prepare occupancy and operational reports, maintain records on accommodation, assets, incidents and maintenance, and report regularly to management.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, Facilities Management, Logistics, Human Resources or a related field; additional Health & Safety training is an advantage.
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in camp management, hospitality, facilities management, administration or a similar operational role.
• Experience managing remote-site, agricultural, mining, construction or industrial accommodation camps is highly desirable.
