Quality Assurance Supervisor (HSE & HACCP)

About the role

Shugulika Africa Limited is looking for a Quality Assurance Supervisor in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. The incumbent acts as HSE and Quality Assurance Supervisor and ensures compliance with food safety, hygiene and occupational health and safety standards across the operation.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct routine HSE, HACCP and quality assurance inspections, and carry out HACCP audits while monitoring compliance with food safety requirements.
• Investigate customer complaints, accidents, incidents and non-conformities and recommend corrective actions, and coordinate follow-up on root cause analysis.
• Prepare and maintain HACCP, HSE and quality assurance records, reports and documentation, and prepare performance reports for management.
• Ensure strict compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and maintain cleaning schedules, sanitation records and pest control programmes.
• Monitor quality and food safety of raw materials and suppliers, and inspect work areas and production equipment for cleanliness and maintenance.
• Conduct workplace risk assessments, promote awareness of health, safety, environmental and quality standards, and train staff in HSE, HACCP, food safety and hygiene.
• Support internal, external, client and regulatory audits, and assist in improving HSE and quality assurance systems.
• Promptly report equipment faults, defects or maintenance needs, and perform other duties as directed by the supervisor or manager.

Required profile

• University degree in Food Science, or Microbiology or Food Nutrition.
• 3-5 years of work experience in a multinational organisation or production facility.
• Knowledge of OHS/HSE principles is an added advantage.
• Good communication, organisational and customer orientation skills, leadership skills, and fluent English, spoken and written.

Required skills

• Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations, including HACCP requirements.
• Good computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint).
