Business Development Manager – Distributor Area (Mining & Construction)

About the role

We are seeking a Business Development Manager for the Distributor Area to expand our market presence across mining and construction sectors in Central Africa. The role involves driving revenue growth, building long‑term relationships, and collaborating with Business Line Managers to execute strategic plans.

Key responsibilities

• Identify new business opportunities by researching markets, analysing trends and uncovering potential clients or partnerships.
• Develop and implement business development strategies to meet revenue and growth targets.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners and stakeholders for long‑term engagement.
• Lead negotiations, prepare proposals and close deals to secure profitable opportunities.
• Monitor competitors, industry trends and customer needs to inform business strategies.
• Oversee or collaborate with sales and marketing teams, providing guidance and reporting progress to senior management.
• Deliver compelling presentations and pitches to potential clients or partners.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience selling heavy equipment to mining and construction industries.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (any discipline); a Master’s or MBA is an advantage.
• Strong understanding of distributor operations and management.
• Proven ability to work independently, meet targets and thrive in a performance‑driven environment.
