About the role
The Relationship Manager – Islamic Banking will drive growth of NBC’s Islamic Banking portfolio by acquiring new customers, deepening existing relationships, and expanding financing and deposit assets in full compliance with Shari’ah principles. The role serves as the primary commercial interface between the bank and its Islamic Banking clients across retail and business segments.
Key responsibilities
- Own end‑to‑end business development for the Islamic Banking book, targeting new‑to‑bank individuals, SMEs and institutions.
- Develop and execute a personal business development plan with monthly acquisition targets and report progress to the Head of Islamic Banking.
- Mobilise deposits by marketing Lariba savings, current and investment accounts to meet quarterly liability growth targets.
- Originate and structure Lariba financing proposals (Murabaha, Ijarah, Musharaka, etc.) in collaboration with the Credit Unit, ensuring Shari’ah compliance and commercial soundness.
- Maintain an active portfolio of Islamic Banking clients, conducting regular review meetings, renewals, top‑ups and cross‑sell opportunities.
- Represent NBC at community events, Islamic finance seminars and trade forums to raise brand visibility and generate leads.
- Assume day‑to‑day operational leadership of the Islamic Banking team in the absence of the Head, ensuring continuity of business development, service standards and Shari’ah compliance.
Required profile
- Proven ability to acquire new customers and grow Islamic Banking assets.
- Strong understanding of Shari’ah‑compliant financing structures such as Murabaha, Ijarah and Musharaka.
- Experience managing a portfolio of retail and business banking clients.
- Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills with individuals, SMEs and institutional clients.
