Destination Steward – Sustainability Alliances (Zanzibar)

About the role

Iberostar Group is seeking a Destination Steward (Sustainability Alliances Responsible) to join its Destination Stewardship department in Zanzibar. The role bridges Iberostar’s sustainability agenda with local priorities, fostering partnerships that drive responsible tourism across Tanzania.

Key responsibilities

• Represent Iberostar in local associations, tourism boards, and sustainability‑focused organisations.
• Lead multi‑sector initiatives addressing ecosystem degradation, water use, waste management, and community involvement.
• Facilitate public‑private partnerships that advance regional sustainability goals.
• Collaborate with internal departments to tailor waste, water, and ecosystem regeneration strategies to each operational area.
• Build and maintain relationships with local governments, NGOs, businesses, and communities.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of tourism and environmental challenges in Tanzania.
• Proven ability to engage public and private stakeholders.
• Experience in coordinating cross‑functional sustainability projects.
• Excellent communication and advocacy skills.
