STEM & Computer Science Teacher Fellow – Tanzania

About the role

Tanzania Education Corporation (TEC) seeks a motivated STEM & Computer Science Teacher Fellow to join Tumaini Senior Secondary School in Makuyuni, Tanzania. You will lead technology and programming classes, introduce digital literacy and AI concepts, and support the school’s growing STEM curriculum.

Key responsibilities

• Teach computer and technology classes to Forms 1‑3 students.
• Support typing, digital literacy, programming, and introductory computer science learning.
• Guide student projects and independent learning for Forms 4‑5.
• Oversee open lab time, encouraging student‑led projects and creativity.
• Assist with maintenance and organization of the school computer lab.
• Help Tanzanian teachers build technology skills and confidence.
• Contribute to expanding TEC’s STEM curriculum, including introductory AI projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (required).
• Demonstrated IT proficiency through coursework or relevant experience.
• Familiarity with programming languages such as HTML, JavaScript, or Python.
• Interest in artificial intelligence and emerging technologies.
• Teaching experience and international experience are desirable.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across cultures.
• Independent, flexible, and proactive personality.
