Head of Program Implementation (Tanzania)

About the role

The Head of Program Implementation will lead the design, execution and scaling of Educate!’s sustainability strategy in Tanzania. Reporting to the Managing Director, this senior leader will guide cross‑functional teams, ensure financial fidelity and embed a data‑driven culture across the program.

Key responsibilities

• Co‑lead the development and tracking of the Mewaka Sustainability Strategy, aligning quarterly goals with senior leadership and program managers.
• Design and validate scalable delivery models, including local‑government co‑design initiatives, to drive sustainable impact.
• Oversee the creation of performance standards, management tools and lean procedures that support program scale‑up.
• Monitor and refine program cost models, support monthly budget reviews and promote cost‑effectiveness across teams.
• Build and sustain a high‑performance, culturally aligned team by establishing clear performance expectations, coaching managers and fostering a psychologically safe, data‑focused environment.

Required profile

• Minimum four years of experience owning and managing large‑scale programs, with a proven track record of building relationships with central and local government stakeholders in the education sector.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Studies or a related field; certifications in project planning or people management are a strong plus.
• Demonstrated ability to translate raw data into actionable insights and to lead teams through strategic planning and implementation.
