Senior Regional Technical Officer – Supply Chain

About the role

The Senior Regional Technical Officer (SRTO) for Supply Chain will provide hands‑on technical leadership, mentorship and systems support to strengthen supply chain management of life‑saving HIV/AIDS and TB commodities across the Mbeya region. Based at the regional level, the SRTO acts as a technical bridge between national authorities, regional health teams and implementing partners.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day technical expertise on commodities management at regional, council and facility levels, including bottom‑up quantification and integration into national supply plans.
• Monitor stock status, analyse inventory trends and coordinate actions to prevent stock‑outs, expiries and overstocks.
• Strengthen the use of eLMIS, DHIS2, GoTHOMIS and related tools for accurate, timely reporting.
• Mentor health‑facility pharmacists, clinicians and supply‑chain staff on stock management, ordering, redistribution and rational use of medicines.
• Facilitate pharmacovigilance, adverse‑drug‑reaction reporting and collaboration with MSD, TMDA, CMS and the Pharmacy Council.

Required profile

• Degree in Pharmacy, Supply Chain Management, Public Health or related field (master’s preferred).
• Minimum eight years of experience supporting public life‑saving commodities supply chains, pharmaceutical management or health‑systems strengthening.
• Proven experience with eLMIS, DHIS2, CTC2 Database, BUQ and GoTHOMIS tools.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
