Senior Maintenance Planner

About the role

The Senior Maintenance Planner will join the Barrick Africa Middle East Team at North Mara Mine. This permanent, site‑based role is responsible for executing the rolling maintenance plan, ensuring SAP compliance, managing maintenance backlogs and supporting the development of local planning staff.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain accurate rolling maintenance plans for the OC HME fleet to improve equipment availability and reduce unplanned downtime.
• Coordinate weekly and monthly maintenance scheduling in line with production requirements and confirm weekly schedules with Production.
• Create high‑quality job plans, standard work procedures and preventive‑maintenance routines in SAP, ensuring completeness before execution.
• Analyse equipment performance data and SAP maintenance history to identify improvement opportunities and support backlog prioritisation.
• Prepare and manage maintenance budgets, monitor actual costs versus plan and report variances.
• Identify, source and ensure availability of critical spares and materials in advance of planned activities.
• Monitor planning KPIs such as schedule compliance, backlog volume and age, work‑order closure rate and planning accuracy, implementing corrective actions.
• Drive SAP discipline within the planning team, reducing reliance on Excel and keeping all work orders, notifications and time records up to date.

Required profile

• Compliance with Barrick health, safety and environmental policies and the Mines Health & Safety Act.
• Proven experience in maintenance planning within an industrial or mining environment.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret equipment performance data and drive reliability initiatives.
• Budget management experience and ability to report on cost variances.
• Effective coordination with production, procurement and supply‑chain functions.
