Revenue Accountant

About the role

Altima Talent is recruiting a Revenue Accountant on behalf of its client for the Tanzania office in Dar es Salaam. Reporting to the Finance Manager, the role ensures that all revenues are recorded timely and accurately in line with applicable laws, covering reconciliation and invoicing of revenues and other income, and preparing revenue reports for management decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Create customer accounts in the OMNI accounting system and manage client contractual pricing clauses, collecting authorisation for price variations.
• Compile supporting documents to produce invoices on time, reconcile billing schedules and coordinate checks of guards, transmitters and delivery notes against their deployment and execution records.
• Ensure accuracy of waybills before billing, receive billing documentation from branches and create and release invoices in OMNI in line with company procedures and tax authority guidelines.
• Generate monthly variance revenue reports and a monthly unbilled revenues report for accruals, maintain billing records and ensure credit notes are authorised.
• Resolve client billing and invoicing queries promptly and work with internal and external auditors.

Required profile

• At least 4 years of relevant experience in this or a similar role.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics or a related field from a recognised university.
• Professional accounting or finance qualification such as CPA or ACCA.
• In-depth knowledge of the tax laws applicable to the role.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of ERP and accounting software systems.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Analytical, detail-oriented, able to work with minimal supervision and in multi-cultural teams.
