Regional Technical Officer, Community Engagement TB

About the role

The Regional Technical Officer, Community Engagement, provides technical and programmatic oversight for community and facility‑based TB prevention, screening, diagnosis, treatment and continuity of care across the Morogoro region.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical support for evidence‑based TB strategies, including case finding, contact tracing, diagnosis and treatment linkage.
• Develop, adapt and disseminate tools, SOPs and materials to strengthen community‑based TB interventions.
• Collaborate with regional and district TB coordinators, CSOs, CHWs and local government to ensure quality implementation according to national guidelines.
• Conduct supportive supervision, mentorship and capacity‑strengthening for CHWs and CSOs.
• Monitor project performance indicators, analyse data and produce actionable reports for decision‑making.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, public health, international development or a related field.
• Minimum 4 years of progressive experience in community‑based health programming, preferably with TB/HIV interventions.
• Demonstrated experience working with NGOs, CSOs, CHWs and government agencies.
• Willingness to travel extensively within Tanzania (50‑75% domestic travel).

Required skills

• Fluent written and spoken English and Swahili.
• Strong analytical and data‑use skills, including interpretation of program data.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft 365 applications (SharePoint, Teams, Skype/Zoom).
