Regional Technical Officer – HTS & Prevention

About the role

The Regional Technical Officer (RTO) will provide technical leadership for HIV prevention and testing services under the EpiC project in Tanzania. The role supports implementation across police, prisons and public health facilities, ensuring high‑quality service delivery and integration of NCD screening.

Key responsibilities

• Support technical planning, implementation and monitoring of HTS, HIVST, SNS and PrEP interventions in line with national and global guidelines.
• Strengthen health facility capacity to deliver provider‑initiated testing, link newly diagnosed clients to care and integrate NCD screening into HIV services.
• Lead quality assurance, data collection, reporting and use of performance data for continuous improvement.
• Mentor junior staff, supervise technical activities and liaise with ministries, donors and implementing partners.

Required profile

• Degree in Medicine, Nursing or related field; MPH is an advantage.
• Minimum 4 years experience in HIV prevention, HTS, public health or related programs.
• Proven experience with technical assistance, capacity building and supportive supervision.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
