Purchasing Manager

About the role

We are looking for an analytical and proactive Purchasing Manager to lead the procurement function for our RIU hotels in Zanzibar. The role oversees the full purchasing cycle for food and non‑food items, ensuring cost efficiency, supplier quality and alignment with global corporate standards.

Key responsibilities

• Report directly to the Regional Corporate Purchasing Manager and ensure local purchasing complies with global guidelines.
• Prepare, launch and manage tenders for food and non‑food supplies, conducting preliminary supplier comparisons.
• Direct daily purchasing activities, source items that meet company standards and monitor contract compliance.
• Maintain standard costing models, analyse monthly price variances and protect operational margins.
• Lead and develop a high‑performing procurement team, fostering talent and morale.
• Collaborate with other hotel departments to anticipate supply needs and avoid operational disruptions.

Required profile

• Strong attention to detail and a methodical work style.
• Leadership experience in a fast‑paced resort or hospitality environment.
• Ability to anticipate supply risks and manage supplier relationships.
• Fluent written and spoken English.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for cost analysis and reporting.
