Sous Chef (Asian Cuisine Specialist) – Zanzibar 5*

About the role

Join Iberostar Selection Zanzibar 5* as a Sous Chef specializing in Asian cuisine. You will lead the kitchen team to create memorable dining experiences that exceed guest expectations in a luxury beachfront setting.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and establish menus and dishes for the Asian cuisine outlet.
• Design, plate, and actively participate in the preparation of signature dishes.
• Supervise kitchen staff, monitor performance, and identify internal talent.
• Train and support the team on procedures, systems, and technical data sheets.
• Manage staff attendance, shifts, and breaks according to occupancy forecasts.
• Collaborate with purchasing and control food costs.
• Work with the Executive Chef to address corrective and preventive maintenance for kitchen equipment.
• Participate in hotel and team briefings, suggesting service improvements based on guest feedback.

Required profile

• Minimum 2‑3 years experience as a Sous Chef (2nd Head of Kitchen) in a 4★ or higher hotel.
• Professional vocational training related to culinary arts.
• Fluent English; additional languages are a plus.
• Strong commitment to safety, cleanliness, and hygiene standards.
• Passionate about learning, growing, and working collaboratively.
