Order Desk Officer – Customer Service & Logistics

About the role

We are seeking a dynamic Order Desk Officer to join our team in Mwanza, Tanzania. In this role you will be the first point of contact for customers, handling enquiries, processing orders and supporting the sales and logistics functions to ensure a world‑class customer experience.

Key responsibilities

• Provide prompt and professional support for customer queries via phone and email.
• Receive, process and expedite parts orders, ensuring compliance with sales and logistics guidelines.
• Act as the primary interface from enquiry to order completion, collaborating closely with the sales team.
• Manage existing business according to customer segmentation, rules and procedures.
• Liaise with inventory planners to secure replenishment stock for customers.
• Handle customer complaints, coordinating with supervisors and managers to resolve issues.
• Educate customers on available products and services.
• Maintain accurate records in Sandvik’s ERP and integrated systems.
• Ensure adherence to safety, health, environmental and quality regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain or a related field.
• Minimum three years of experience in logistics, procurement or supply‑chain operations.
• Experience handling customer queries and complaints.
• Proficiency in English with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong numerical and analytical abilities with high attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently as a proactive self‑starter.
• Previous exposure to the mining or related industries is an advantage.
