Manager, Global Markets Product Controller

About the role

The Manager, Global Markets Product Controller ensures accurate and timely reporting, reconciliation, and substantiation of Global Markets and Treasury product income statements and balance sheets. The role enhances these core outputs through insightful analysis that supports business performance, revenue growth, and improved client solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Produce and validate daily and periodic P&L and balance sheet reports, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and integrity.
• Perform reconciliations across front‑office trading systems, core banking platforms, and the general ledger, including currency positions and product balances.
• Analyse P&L and balance sheet movements, providing clear attribution, variance explanations, and actionable insights.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies, identifying root causes and implementing sustainable fixes.
• Deliver concise, value‑added commentary to support trading, client activity, and business strategy.
• Partner with front‑office, risk, and finance teams to translate financial results into commercially relevant insights.
• Support new product initiatives by designing reporting frameworks, controls, and system requirements.
• Drive process improvements, automation, and data‑quality enhancements to increase efficiency and scalability.
• Contribute to ad‑hoc analysis, projects, and business initiatives.

Required profile

• First degree in Finance and Accounting; CPA/ACCA preferred.
• 2‑3 years experience in Global Markets/Treasury product control or a similar finance or market‑risk support role.
• Proven ability to collaborate across functions, prepare financial reports, and perform reconciliations.
• Track record of using technical knowledge and data‑driven arguments to influence reporting outcomes.
• Willingness to develop in‑depth knowledge of finance operations, core products, and business lines.
