Finance Manager

About the role

A leading finance function and supporting the organization's growth, the Finance Manager reports to the Finance Director. The role suits a finance professional comfortable in a fast-paced environment and with experience in logistics, trading or inventory-intensive operations. It is based on-site in Dar es Salaam.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the finance function and give strategic financial guidance to management
• Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports in compliance with IFRS
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, financial planning and performance analysis
• Optimize cash flow, working capital, receivables, payables and inventory
• Manage banking relationships and financing facilities such as overdrafts, letters of credit, import finance and bank guarantees
• Monitor foreign exchange exposure and implement risk mitigation strategies
• Ensure compliance with statutory and tax requirements (VAT, withholding tax, income tax)
• Coordinate internal and external audits and maintain strong internal controls
• Drive improvements in finance processes, ERP/SAP use and financial reporting systems
• Lead, mentor and develop the finance team
• Partner with Operations, Procurement, Sales and Executive Management on commercial and strategic decisions

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related field; CPA (T), ACCA, ACA or equivalent is mandatory
• Master's degree in Finance, Business Administration (MBA) or a related field is an added advantage
• At least 7 years of progressive finance experience, including at least 3 years in a managerial role
• Experience in logistics, transportation, trading, manufacturing or similar operations is highly preferred

Required skills

• IFRS, taxation, financial reporting, budgeting, treasury and internal controls
• ERP systems, especially SAP or similar enterprise financial systems
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and financial analysis
