Country Head, Internal Audit - Tanzania

About the role

Dangote Industries Limited is looking for a highly motivated and proactive person to lead the Internal Audit function at its Tanzania plant. The role leads the Internal Audit team and oversees a wide range of activities across the group's companies, with the aim of strengthening compliance and governance and improving organisational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement a comprehensive internal audit plan for Dangote Cement.
• Supervise a group of internal auditors to ensure efficient and successful audits.
• Advise top management on audit findings and suggest improvements.
• Ensure adherence to internal guidelines, processes and legal requirements.
• Oversee and evaluate the efficiency of internal controls and risk management procedures.
• Present audit findings to the Audit Committee and Executive Leadership.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field; MSc in Accounting or MBA is a plus.
• Associate-level membership of a professional body such as CIA or ACCA is mandatory.
• At least 20 years of financial and operational audit experience, including 5 years in executive leadership.
• Big 4, global corporate or international experience preferred.
• Diverse industry exposure, for example manufacturing and energy.

Required skills

• Strong understanding of financial controls and accounting standards.
• Familiarity with fraud indicators and SAP.
• Financial reporting, analysis and industry knowledge.
• Effective communication, critical thinking and analytical skills.
