CPA Senior Accountant

About the role

A full-time, on-site Senior Accountant (CPA) position based in Mbagala, Dar es Salaam, within the Finance & Accounts department and reporting to the Finance Manager. The role manages the company's accounting and financial reporting, ensures compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations and statutory requirements, and provides financial insights that support business growth and strategic decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and management reports in line with IFRS and company policies.
• Maintain, reconcile and review general ledger accounts to keep financial records accurate and complete.
• Ensure timely preparation, filing and payment of VAT, PAYE, SDL, withholding tax and corporate income tax.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and reporting obligations applicable in Tanzania.
• Develop, implement and monitor internal controls to protect company assets and ensure financial integrity.
• Coordinate internal and external audits and follow up on audit recommendations.
• Provide financial projections and business analysis for strategic planning, and prepare financial reports, dashboards and performance updates for senior management.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Business Administration or a related field from a recognised institution.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) qualification is mandatory.
• Registration with the National Board of Accountants and Auditors (NBAA) is an added advantage.
• Minimum of 5 to 8 years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including at least 3 years in a senior accounting or supervisory role.
• Experience in corporate, manufacturing, logistics, ICD telecommunications, FMCG, construction or service environments is an added advantage.
