Director of Quality Management – Healthcare

About the role

The Director of Quality Management will lead the hospital’s quality improvement and patient safety initiatives, ensuring compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards. This senior position reports to senior leadership and works closely with medical staff and the quality team.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor an integrated Quality Program aligned with the hospital’s Quality Improvement/Patient Safety Plan.
• Coordinate the Continuous Quality Improvement Committee and supervise the Medical Staff and Quality Team.
• Lead the adoption of quality indicators, performance measures, and auditing processes, and produce comprehensive data reports.
• Oversee the Peer Review process (OPPE/FPPE) and support physician credentialing activities.
• Direct the Patient Safety function, ensuring timely reporting of adverse events to external agencies.
• Manage accreditation and licensure activities, preparing the organization for surveys and corrective action plans.
• Foster professional and community relationships to support quality initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in health administration, public health, nursing or a related field; Master’s preferred.
• Minimum three years of progressive experience in quality improvement or nursing quality management.
• CPHQ or equivalent certification preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Joint Commission, CMS, and other regulatory standards.
• Excellent communication and professional demeanor.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Epic electronic health record system.
• Advanced use of Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
