Regional Technical Officer, Iringa

About the role

The Regional Technical Officer, Strategic Information leads monitoring and evaluation activities across several district councils in the Iringa region, ensuring compliance with reporting standards of the U.S. Department of State, FHI 360, and the Government of Tanzania. The role focuses on strengthening M&E systems, improving data quality, and providing reliable data for program monitoring and evidence‑based decision making.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for data collection, management, analysis, and reporting across assigned districts.
• Conduct routine supportive supervision visits, data quality assessments, and data verification using standardized tools.
• Oversee the functionality of digital health information systems such as DHIS2, CTC2/CTC3, DATIM, eLMIS, eTL and related dashboards.
• Develop and enhance data visualisation products, dashboards, and analytics tools to support decision‑making.
• Mentor health care providers, data clerks and facility staff on data capture, quality assurance, analysis and use.

Required profile

• Demonstrated ability to apply M&E methodologies and tools with minimal supervision.
• Experience supporting health information systems and conducting data quality improvement activities.
• Strong analytical skills to identify gaps, propose strategies and generate actionable insights.

Required skills

• Proficiency with DHIS2 (Tracker and MoH modules).
• Experience using CTC2/CTC3, DATIM, eLMIS, eTL and related data platforms.
• Data analysis and visualization using dashboards and CQI tools.
• Technical troubleshooting of digital health information systems.
