Underground Mining Production Supervisor

About the role

The Underground Mining Production Supervisor will lead shift crews and manage equipment in the Geita Gold Mine’s underground operations. The role ensures safe, efficient production while maintaining high standards of workforce competence and environmental stewardship.

Key responsibilities

• Lead safe work practices by verifying critical controls, PPE, and Take‑5 compliance; conduct inspections, toolbox talks, and manage incident reporting.
• Supervise production drilling, slot raises, V30 holes, stope preparation, charging and bogging, optimizing the use of remote boggers.
• Manage haulage and services to meet truck cycle‑time targets, ensure correct loading, level call‑ups, scaling, and installation of barricades and signage.
• Maintain accurate PLODs and end‑of‑shift reports for seamless handovers to incoming supervisors.
• Coordinate with dispatch and lamproom for breakdown capture, PPE distribution, stock control, and equipment meetings.
• Uphold roadways, sumps, housekeeping, waste segregation, dust and spill control, and respect local flora and fauna.

Required profile

• Completion of secondary school education; a diploma or certificate in Mining Engineering is an advantage.
• Physical and mental fitness for underground work.
• 3–5 years of experience in underground mining operations.
