Director of Projects

About the role

AngloGold Ashanti is seeking a seasoned Director of Projects to lead strategic capital and operational initiatives at its Geita Gold Mine. Reporting to the Managing Director, you will oversee multiple high‑value Stay‑in‑Business projects aimed at boosting underground productivity.

Key responsibilities

• Lead delivery of concurrent SIB projects ranging from $1.5 M to $10 M, excluding ore reserve development and certain capital items.
• Identify and eliminate bottlenecks across the underground value chain (drilling, blasting, mucking, hauling, hoisting).
• Deploy and integrate innovative underground technologies such as Fleet Management Systems (FMS) and Ventilation‑on‑Demand (VoD).
• Manage project scoping, resource allocation, and coordination of internal teams, consultants, EPCM partners, and contractors.
• Ensure compliance with AGA standards, safety policies, and budgetary constraints.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading large‑scale mining or industrial projects.
• Strong strategic vision with a focus on productivity improvement.
• Excellent stakeholder management and multidisciplinary coordination skills.
