Ultrasound Technologist (PRN) – Day Shift, Mon‑Fri, Call Only

About the role

This position is for a PRN Ultrasound Technologist working day shifts, Monday through Friday, with on‑call duties as needed. The technologist will perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations and support physicians during invasive biopsy procedures in a hospital imaging department.

Key responsibilities

• Perform the full range of diagnostic ultrasound procedures following radiologist protocols.
• Assist physicians with ultrasound‑guided biopsy procedures.
• Acquire, evaluate, and document ultrasound images, communicating findings to the radiologist.
• Operate and maintain imaging equipment including transducers, cameras, printers, RIS and PACS systems.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and ensure exam rooms are orderly and safe.
• Explain procedures to patients, answer questions, and reduce anxiety.
• Enter orders and charge procedures in the RIS system.
• Perform high‑level disinfection of probes using a Trophon system.
• Report equipment issues, hazardous conditions, and attend safety training.
• Assist in other imaging areas when not performing ultrasound exams.

Required profile

• Registered with ARDMS and in good standing; credentialing in physics, vascular and abdominal ultrasound preferred.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ability to lift 20 lb regularly, push/pull 25 lb, and stand/walk for at least five hours per day.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and professional demeanor.
