Sales & Operations Manager

About the role

A leading mining company, recruited by Shugulika Africa Limited, is looking for an experienced, results-driven Manager – Sales & Operations to oversee, manage and support sales and operational activities across its branches. The role focuses on driving sales performance, improving operational efficiency, leading teams and executing business strategies, especially in remote and rural environments.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and manage sales and operational activities across multiple branches to ensure smooth and efficient performance.
• Lead, motivate and support teams to achieve business objectives and meet sales targets.
• Develop and execute strategies to drive sales growth and operational excellence.
• Manage multiple tasks, prioritise and ensure timely completion of operations and sales activities.
• Travel regularly to branch locations, including very rural areas, to provide support and oversight.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, stakeholders and internal teams.
• Analyse performance data, forecast trends and turn insights into actionable strategies.
• Identify operational inefficiencies and implement process improvements.
• Support budgeting, cost management and financial monitoring.
• Solve complex operational problems and use sales and negotiation skills to support business development.

Required profile

• At least 5-7 years of sales experience.
• At least 3-5 years of proven leadership or management experience.
• Proven ability to meet and exceed sales targets.
• Strong leadership, team motivation and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to travel weekly and flexibility to work in remote, rural environments with limited amenities.

Required skills

• Good understanding of sales processes and negotiation techniques.
• Financial acumen including budgeting and cost awareness.
• Strong analytical, strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
