Sales Executive - Manufacturing

About the role

A client of Shugulika Africa Limited is looking for a proactive, results-driven Sales Executive to drive business development and revenue growth in the manufacturing industry. The role covers finding and engaging new clients, managing customer relationships, closing sales, following up on payments, monitoring the market and competitors, and reporting sales performance.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and engage potential clients in the manufacturing industry and arrange meetings to understand their needs.
• Visit customers regularly to build long-term relationships and present products and solutions.
• Negotiate commercial terms, close deals and handle customer complaints and objections.
• Follow up on outstanding payments and support timely collection of receivables.
• Take part in exhibitions, conferences and trade events on behalf of the organisation.
• Gather and report customer and market feedback to the Head of Sales and the Sales Manager.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity and pricing, and analyse them for the Sales Manager.
• Prepare monthly Sales and Visit Summary reports, sales dashboards and performance updates.
• Maintain accurate records of visits, opportunities and follow-ups in the sales or ERP system.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Sales Executive or in a similar sales role in the manufacturing industry.
• Previous B2B sales, business development or customer relationship management experience is highly desirable.
• Strong commercial awareness, negotiation and presentation skills, and good analytical and reporting abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Working knowledge of sales management, CRM or ERP software.
• Ability to work independently, manage customer visits and meet deadlines.
