Sales Engineer - Lubricants

About the role

A reputable lubricant manufacturing company, represented by Shugulika Africa Limited, is looking for a Sales Engineer in Dar es Salaam. The role promotes and sells automotive, industrial and specialty lubricants, providing expert technical support and tailored solutions through a consultative approach.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage customer relationships with industrial clients, OEMs, distributors and workshops.
• Identify customer needs and recommend lubricant solutions based on technical specifications and application requirements.
• Conduct product presentations, demonstrations and training sessions for customers and internal teams.
• Prepare and deliver sales proposals, quotations and technical documents.
• Meet and exceed assigned sales targets and KPIs.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity and pricing strategies.
• Provide after-sales support, handle technical queries and troubleshoot product performance issues.
• Collaborate with R&D, production and marketing teams on customer feedback.
• Maintain CRM records, sales reports and customer visit logs.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or a related field.
• 2-5 years of experience in B2B technical sales, preferably in lubricants, petrochemicals or industry.
• Strong understanding of lubrication technology and its applications.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Willingness to travel frequently within the assigned region.
• Added advantage: certification in lubrication engineering or Trilogy; experience with OEMs or large industrial clients; multilingual skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office and CRM tools.
