Regional Technical Officer, HTS and Prevention Iringa

About the role

The Regional Technical Officer (RTO) will provide technical leadership and support for HIV prevention and testing services under the EpiC project in Tanzania, focusing on HTS, HIV self‑testing, Social Network Strategy, PrEP and integration of NCD screening.

Key responsibilities

• Support technical planning, implementation and monitoring of HIV prevention and testing services across the region.
• Strengthen health facility capacity to deliver HTS, identify unreached HIV‑positive clients and ensure linkage to care.
• Provide technical oversight for Provider‑initiated HIV testing across all service points.
• Lead high‑yield HTS and Linkage Case Management strategies and conduct weekly performance reviews.
• Integrate NCD screening, referral and basic management into HIV and MNCH service delivery.
• Collaborate with regional health teams, CSOs and implementing partners to improve linkage to ART, PrEP and NCD care.

Required profile

• Degree in Medicine, Nursing or related field with national registration; MPH is an advantage.
• Minimum 4 years experience in HIV prevention, HTS, public health or related programs.
• Experience with Ministry of Health, USG‑funded projects and donor reporting.
• Proven ability to provide technical assistance, mentorship and supportive supervision.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of HIV prevention, HTS, HIV self‑testing, Social Network Strategy and PrEP.
• Data analysis and performance monitoring for decision‑making.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project monitoring systems.
