Regional Technical Officer – Community Engagement TB

About the role

The Regional Technical Officer, Community Engagement, provides technical and programmatic oversight for community and facility‑based TB prevention, screening, diagnosis, treatment and continuity of care across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical support for evidence‑based TB strategies, including prevention, case finding, contact tracing, diagnosis and treatment.
• Develop, adapt and disseminate tools, SOPs and materials for community‑based TB interventions.
• Collaborate with regional TB coordinators, CSOs, CHWs and local government to ensure quality implementation according to national guidelines.
• Conduct supportive supervision, mentorship and capacity‑strengthening for CHWs and CSOs.
• Monitor project performance indicators, analyse data and produce actionable reports.
• Track implementation plans, identify gaps and support referral/linkage of presumptive TB cases.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant social science, public health or development field.
• Minimum 4 + years of progressive experience in community‑based health programming and technical leadership.
• Fluent in written and spoken English and Swahili.
• Willingness to travel extensively (50‑75% domestic travel).

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Microsoft 365 tools (SharePoint, Teams, Skype/Zoom).
• Strong analytical and data‑use skills for interpreting program data and preparing reports.
