Procurement Manager - Fleet Spare Parts

About the role

Shugulika Africa Limited is looking for a technically strong, results-driven Procurement Manager in Dar es Salaam to oversee the sourcing and procurement of spare parts, tires, lubricants and workshop consumables for a fleet of fuel tankers and flatbed trucks, with a focus on Chinese brands such as HOWO, FAW and CIMC. The role suits someone who knows heavy-duty truck components well, has experience with local Tanzanian vendors and can work in shifts or respond to urgent needs.

Key responsibilities

• Manage procurement of OEM and aftermarket parts for trucks and trailers, focusing on HOWO, FAW and CIMC brands.
• Source and verify technical components such as tires, batteries, lubricants and filters according to maintenance needs.
• Build and maintain relationships with reliable local and regional suppliers, securing competitive prices and terms.
• Coordinate with workshop and fleet teams to forecast spare part needs and reduce vehicle downtime.
• Handle urgent procurement and delivery for breakdowns, including after-hours and roadside support.
• Track procurement processes using ERP systems and Excel, keeping accurate records and reports.
• Ensure stock availability of critical spares and consumables for routine and emergency maintenance.
• Oversee quality and regulatory compliance, including import documentation and standards.
• Monitor tire and lubricant usage and provide technical support on part alternatives and cost-effective solutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Procurement, Logistics or a related field.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in spare parts procurement for heavy commercial vehicles, including Chinese brands (HOWO, FAW, CIMC).
• Strong knowledge of local Tanzanian parts markets, tire suppliers and lubricant dealers.
• Solid understanding of transport regulations and fleet maintenance cycles.
• Ability to work in shifts and respond quickly to urgent requests; integrity, organization and initiative.
