Office Driver

About the role

A leading company in the solar energy and renewable solutions sector, represented by its client, is looking for a reliable and professional driver in Dar es Salaam. The driver transports staff, documents and packages safely and efficiently and keeps the company vehicle in good condition, supporting daily operations and road safety compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Transport staff to meetings, field visits and site inspections in a timely and professional way.
• Deliver mail, documents and packages between offices, clients and suppliers.
• Support logistical needs for company events and activities.
• Check the vehicle daily (fuel, oil, tires, lights, brakes) and ensure timely servicing and preventative maintenance.
• Report mechanical issues, incidents or accidents immediately.
• Maintain an up-to-date vehicle logbook (mileage, fuel consumption, destinations) and keep transport documentation and trip authorizations accurate.
• Follow road safety and traffic regulations, and keep the vehicle clean inside and out.

Required profile

• Valid driver's licence with a clean driving record.
• Secondary school education or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of experience as a company or NGO driver.
• Familiarity with local routes, traffic patterns and geography.
• Good physical condition for long hours of driving and occasional loading/unloading.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance and basic troubleshooting.
• Excellent time management, punctuality and ability to work independently.
• Good communication skills and professionalism.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety and adherence to traffic laws.
