Light Vehicle Mechanic

About the role

Join the Barrick Africa Middle East Team as a Light Vehicle Mechanic. You will be responsible for maintaining the fleet of light vehicles and associated plant equipment, ensuring safe and efficient operation while supporting production and cost targets.

Key responsibilities

• Perform mechanical repairs, preventive maintenance and corrective actions on light vehicles and plant equipment.
• Carry out troubleshooting, fault finding and equipment isolation in accordance with safety and environmental policies.
• Conduct pre‑start checks, PM inspections and ensure compliance with working‑at‑height and confined‑space procedures.
• Execute pump component removal and replacement, and carry out tire‑changing activities using the tire handler and service truck.
• Maintain accurate records, provide status updates to the Light Vehicle Supervisor and ensure spare tires are available.
• Participate in training programmes to develop technical skills and support on‑the‑job learning.

Required profile

• Commitment to safety, including use of PPE and adherence to safety meetings and reporting.
• Ability to follow detailed maintenance procedures and work instructions.
• Strong communication skills to keep supervisors and stakeholders informed.
• Willingness to engage in continuous learning and skill development.
