General Manager - Nightlife Venue

About the role

A client of Shugulika Africa Limited, a fast-growing brand in Tanzania's hospitality and nightlife industry, is looking for an experienced General Manager to run one of its top clubs, bars and restaurants in Dar es Salaam. The role suits someone with a strong background in nightlife, dining and customer experience, who can combine operational excellence, team leadership, financial acumen and marketing flair to grow the business.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and manage daily operations to deliver exceptional customer experiences.
• Develop and implement marketing strategies that increase brand visibility and drive sales.
• Handle budgeting, cost control and financial reporting for the venue.
• Lead recruitment, training and performance management of a high-performing team.
• Plan and coordinate events and promotions to attract and retain customers.
• Ensure strict compliance with hospitality industry laws and safety regulations.

Required profile

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in bar, club or restaurant management.
• Demonstrated ability in team leadership, sales and financial management.
• Proven track record in business development and marketing.
• Experience planning and running events to engage guests and strengthen the brand.
• Familiarity with Tanzanian hospitality laws and regulations preferred.
