Restaurant Operations Supervisor (Hospitality)

About the role

A fast-growing fast-food restaurant based in Tanzania is looking for a hands-on, results-driven Restaurant Operations Supervisor to oversee daily restaurant operations and ensure efficient service delivery. The successful candidate coordinates daily activities, supervises and supports staff, monitors service standards and ensures compliance with food safety, hygiene and company standards. The role suits a practical, proactive leader who works closely with the team during peak hours and can resolve day-to-day operational challenges. Applications are open to qualified candidates willing to relocate to Tanzania, including Kenyan professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily restaurant operations, keeping workflows smooth and service efficient during peak hours.
• Supervise kitchen and restaurant staff, assign duties, monitor performance and ensure procedures are followed.
• Manage inventory: stock receiving, storage, stock counts, expiry dates and FIFO/FEFO rotation, and address discrepancies.
• Monitor operational costs, control food wastage and ensure efficient resource use through portion control and production planning.
• Maintain SOPs, opening and closing checklists, cleaning schedules and shift handover procedures.
• Prepare operational reports on stock levels, wastage, service quality and staff performance, and identify improvements.

Required profile

• Diploma in hospitality management, hotel management, culinary arts or a related hospitality field.
• At least 3 years of professional experience in restaurant operations.
• Proactive, organised and hands-on approach, with clear communication and basic numerical skills.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of stock control, food costing, inventory counts and waste reduction.
• Good understanding of food safety, hygiene, temperature control and safe food storage.
• Ability to follow checklists, maintain records, solve problems and coordinate with restaurant supervisors.
