Fraud Analyst 24/7 - M-PESA and GSM Fraud Monitoring

About the role

TEF Consult is hiring a Fraud Analyst 24/7 in Dar es Salaam to detect and prevent fraud by continuously monitoring fraud alerting systems for M-PESA and GSM services. The role centres on real-time surveillance, rapid response to fraud alerts, timely escalation of suspicious activity and support of regulatory fraud investigations when required.

Key responsibilities

• Continuously monitor real-time data and fraud alerts to detect and respond to suspicious activity within set service level agreements.
• Analyse fraud alerts and incidents initially using fraud management tools.
• Document findings accurately and escalate cases to the relevant Fraud Analyst, Manager or investigation team.
• Perform initial checks and take immediate action to minimise potential losses.
• Assist in preparing and submitting information needed for regulatory fraud investigations.
• Maintain strict confidentiality, integrity and professionalism in all activities.

Required profile

• Minimum diploma or degree; IT or a related field is an added advantage.
• At least 1 year of progressive experience in the telecommunications industry.
• Ability to work night shifts and within a 24/7 shift pattern.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, good oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• High integrity, honesty and confidentiality.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
• Fraud management tools (used in day-to-day analysis).

The position is full time and operates on a 24/7 shift pattern; shift times may vary according to operational needs.
