Business Development Manager

About the role

A prominent consulting company, represented by its client, is looking for a results-driven Business Development Manager in Dar es Salaam. The role drives growth by identifying new business opportunities, managing client relationships and overseeing the full sales process, combining strategic planning with hands-on execution. It works closely with the training and consulting teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a business development strategy focused on revenue growth, market expansion and client satisfaction.
• Pursue new business, lead meetings with prospects and tailor presentations to client objectives.
• Manage leads from inbound inquiries, social media campaigns, website registrations and referrals, ensuring high conversion through follow-up.
• Oversee the end-to-end sales process, including contract negotiation and closing, in line with legal and company standards.
• Monitor market trends, client needs and competitors to refine the strategy.
• Work with training and consulting teams to market services and give feedback on client needs.
• Mentor entry-level staff and build a strong sales team.
• Record sales, revenue and KPIs and report regularly to senior management.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing or a related field; sales or project management certifications are an advantage.
• Proven track record of 5+ years as a Business Development Lead, Sales Executive or similar role.
• Experience in consulting or training, especially project management, is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of sales techniques and digital marketing, with the ability to run campaigns that generate leads and drive revenue.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in CRM software such as Salesforce and MS Office.
• Familiarity with project management tools is a plus.
