Business Analyst – FMCG

About the role

A client of Shugulika Africa Limited in the manufacturing and FMCG industry is looking for a skilled Business Analyst to support its sales leadership in driving sustainable growth, market expansion and strategic transformation across several markets. The role centres on market intelligence, strategic planning, business performance analytics and spotting growth opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Support the development of regional strategic plans and long-term growth initiatives.
• Identify opportunities for market expansion, portfolio optimisation and new product entry.
• Conduct scenario analysis and give data-driven recommendations to senior leadership.
• Monitor branch-level and category-wise sales trends, consumer behaviour and competitor activity, and benchmark against key competitors.
• Influence pricing strategies, portfolio decisions and market prioritisation.
• Analyse performance across markets, sales channels and product categories, develop dashboards and KPI tracking systems, and recommend corrective actions.
• Work with Sales and Marketing to improve distribution efficiency, pricing models and promotional effectiveness, and help evaluate commercial ROI.
• Prepare strategic reports and presentations for senior leadership and turn complex data into clear insights.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
• 6-8 years of experience in business analytics within FMCG, retail or consumer goods.
• Strong strategic thinking, business acumen and stakeholder management skills.

Required skills

• Advanced data analytics and commercial intelligence skills.
• Ability to synthesise large datasets into strategic insights.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office and reporting tools.
