Regulatory, Importation & Public Procurement Consultant (Tanzania)

About the role

Sight and Life Foundation seeks a Tanzania‑based consultant (or consultancy firm/consortium) to lead end‑to‑end regulatory, importation and public‑sector market‑access activities for UNIMMAP Multiple Micronutrient Supplements (MMS). The assignment runs from August 2026 to October 2028 and is primarily remote, with occasional in‑country meetings and travel.

Key responsibilities

• Determine the legally supportable classification and regulatory pathway for the MMS product in Tanzania.
• Identify all regulatory, technical, documentary, site, laboratory, labeling, import, customs, tariff, tax and local‑representation requirements.
• Develop a costed, dependency‑based roadmap from assessment through registration, first import and government procurement readiness.
• Prepare, submit and manage the product‑registration dossier, including samples, inspections, testing and queries.
• Assess and support the selection of competent local MAHs, regulatory representatives, importers and distributors.
• Document timelines, costs, barriers, waivers and lessons to strengthen the Tanzania regulatory roadmap.

Required profile

• Proven experience with Tanzania’s health product regulatory framework and public procurement processes.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex registration and importation projects for medical products.
• Strong knowledge of government procurement eligibility, financing and supplier‑registration requirements.
• Ability to work independently, travel within Tanzania as needed, and deliver evidence‑based assessments.
