IT Specialist – Network Infrastructure & Security

About the role

Palmpay is looking for a proactive IT Specialist to design, implement, secure and maintain its enterprise network infrastructure. You will be responsible for ensuring reliable, high‑performance connectivity across the organization while supporting both daily operations and strategic initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Design, configure and maintain LAN, WAN and WLAN networks, including VLANs, routing and switching.
• Perform network upgrades, backups and keep documentation up to date.
• Configure and manage FortiGate firewalls (policies, NAT, VPN, security profiles) and enforce network security controls.
• Configure, troubleshoot and manage Cisco routers and switches, handling routing protocols such as Static, OSPF and BGP.
• Set up and maintain site‑to‑site and remote‑access VPNs, coordinating with ISPs and vendors to resolve link issues.
• Monitor network performance, use monitoring tools to detect and resolve incidents, and ensure high availability.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science or a related field.
• 1–3 years of hands‑on network engineering experience, preferably in enterprise or ISP environments.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA/CCNP, Fortinet NSE 4 or higher) are a plus.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities, excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently, under pressure and as part of a team.

Required skills

• FortiGate firewall administration.
• Cisco router and switch configuration.
• Deep understanding of TCP/IP, OSI model, VLANs and routing protocols (Static, OSPF, BGP).
• Experience with NAT, ACLs, DHCP, DNS and VPN technologies.
• Proficiency with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
• Knowledge of IDS/IPS, network security best practices and compliance standards.
