Data Engineering Lead

About the role

As the Data Engineering Lead at NBC, you will design, develop, and maintain the data infrastructure that powers the bank’s analytics and decision‑making capabilities. You will ensure data is efficiently collected, transformed, stored, and made accessible for a range of business users.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL pipelines that ingest data from databases, APIs, third‑party services, and logs.
• Develop and optimise data models, schemas, and storage solutions such as data warehouses and data lakes.
• Implement data quality checks, validation processes, and data governance documentation.
• Monitor pipeline performance, set up alerts, and troubleshoot data‑related issues.
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and cross‑functional teams to understand data needs and deliver reliable infrastructure.
• Evaluate emerging big‑data technologies and recommend improvements.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading data engineering initiatives in a complex, data‑driven environment.
• Strong understanding of business requirements and ability to translate them into technical solutions.
• Experience with performance tuning, query optimisation, and cost‑efficient data storage.
